cmv: Emotional intelligence is more important than intellectual intelligence.

People often assume that being intelligent is the key to success. However, I believe emotional intelligence plays a more important role in the long run. Knowledge and skills may help someone stand out at first, but it is the way they treat others and manage their emotions that determines how far they can actually go.

A person can be extremely smart or talented, yet if they are rude, arrogant, or constantly look down on others, they will slowly push people away. In real life, success rarely happens in isolation. We rely on teamwork, trust, and communication, and these are areas where emotional intelligence matters far more than raw intellect. When someone lacks empathy or emotional control, conflicts arise easily, cooperation breaks down, and opportunities begin to disappear.

On the other hand, people with strong emotional intelligence know how to listen, stay calm under pressure, and adjust their behavior depending on the situation. Even if they are not the most intelligent in the room, they are often easier to work with and more likely to gain support from others. Over time, this ability to build relationships allows them to use their knowledge more effectively and maintain steady progress.

Of course, intellectual intelligence is still important, especially in technical or academic fields. However, without emotional intelligence, intelligence alone can become a weakness rather than a strength. For this reason, I believe EQ is not only useful — it is essential for lasting success.
