Dashtadem fortress

Hello, guys. I want to share with you relatively lesser-known compared to Amberd, this is Dashtadem fortress.

What they wrote in text description outside the fortress is that Castle is medieval whereas the outer walls were built in the 19th century.

It was controlled by different forces over the years, including Zakarian dynasty (there is an inscription in Armenian dated from 1307, but I couldnt find it) and some Kurdish rulers (you can see inscription left by one of them in the 12th century in Arabic script on the third pic).

On the pic 6 you can see that the buildings outside the castle and inside the walls are destroyed or in ruins.

Would be nice if our govt renovates this fortress like the Georgians have renovated Rabati castle. I am sure it wont be crazy expensive but will give huge boost to appeal among foreingers. Why I think like this is because a lot of Armenian places of interest are churches or monasteries, would be nice to see more sites of different nature so foreigners wont get tired of similar lamdmarks.
