As a ethiopian I’m constantly trying to get my parents to attend events on time, it’s like they have no perception of time. When i was in Addis I attended a wedding where my family and I arrived an hour late (the wedding took place a 5 minute walk from where we were staying BTW) but it turns out we were somehow early because the bride and groom arrived 2 hours after us. I went to a graduation last year when the graduate arrived almost 3 hours late. My family planned a joined trip with another family to Ethiopia where I and my sister had to run to the gate because we almost missed our flight but my parents and their friends had no reaction to our lateness.

Is there a reason for this lack of care for being late?😭😭
